My name is Diane Schultz. I have lived in the Northwestern part of
Chicago my whole life, and attended St. Francis Borgia School, Mother Theodore Guerin High School, and most recently Dominican University. I graduated from Dominican University in 2006 with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and a concentration in Studio Art. This will be my second year teaching at St. Ferdinand. One of my education courses brought me here to complete several field experience hours in the 3-year-old preschool class in 2004. A year later, I was placed here for my student teaching experience at
the kindergarten level. Last year was my first year teaching full-time, where I taught second grade. I have become very attached to the St. Ferdinand community - the church leaders, faculty, staff, families, and students all exemplify the true meaning of a Catholic education. I am very much looking forward to working with you and your student this year and helping him or her achieve his or her full potential!

I am the proud product of a diverse educational uprbringing. I attended public schools in Traverse City Michigan through 8th grade. Upon moving to Chicago, Francis W. Parker School in Lincoln Park became my home away from home during my high school years. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree as a double major in Economics and Philosophy at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. After one year of substitute teaching in Delaware, I returned to Chicago to earn my Masters Degree in Education from DePaul University. During my time at DePaul, I was introduced to the St. Ferd's community as a student teacher in the middle school under the tutelage of Mrs. Betzolt. I was hired as a full time teacher the following year and I am currently in my second full year as a teacher at Ferd's.
I am a cubs fan.
Education. I enjoy playing volleyball as well as coaching.

I am in my second year of teaching at St. Ferdinand. After spending approximately twenty years in the areas of accounting and finance in the corporate world, I decided to pursue a teaching career. I returned to school and attained secondary certification, and have recently completed my Masters in Education degree from Barat College of DePaul University. I have found my experience here at St. Ferdinand to be both challenging and rewarding. I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with such a great faculty and staff, and a wonderful parish community as well. I grew up in the Chicago area, and attended Syracuse University for my Bachelors degree, and have my MBA from Northwestern University. We continue to strengthen the Mathematics curriculum at the school, and I am looking forward to the addition of a high school Geometry course to our offerings for the fall.
