JAMAICA MISSION SUPPORT
Dear Parishioners and Friends,
Last June, a group of parishioners, clergy, and St. Ferdinand School staff went on a mission to Jamaica to help the Missionaries of the Poor by caring for the sick and homeless. This was an eye-opening experience that changed them forever.
In the spirit of Almsgiving, each family will receive a collection box that will benefit our new friends in Jamaica. Every donation we receive will make a world of difference in the lives of these people. The donations will help to provide food and supplies that are so desperately needed.

Missionaries of the Poor Update
Dear Parishioners,We are happy to share with you that the shipping container that we filled to aid the handicapped, homeless and forgotten children and adults of the Missionaries of the Poor (MOP) has arrived in Jamaica on June 19th . Our desperately needed shipment was delayed significantly by the recent problems experienced in the capital city of Jamaica, where the MOP's have their centers.
Thousands of pounds of rice were joyously received as well as wheelchairs, walkers and strollers generously donated by the parishioners of St. Ferdinand. 250 lbs of pasta, sugar, and 425 lbs of flour will go a long way in feeding more than 500 children and adults under the care of the MOP's in Jamaica.
Who would have never thought that our Lenten mission, which began with a little tree of suggestions in the back of the Church, would end up filling up 18 feet tractor trailer with food, medicine and equipment to help all in need in Jamaica. Thank you so much for your contribution to the MOP's. Your generosity is a proof that together we really do make a difference in someone's life.

Ks. Zdzisław Torba oraz Chicagowscy Przyjaciele Misjonarzy Ubogich

The Brothers of the Missionaries of the Poor are now in the process of opening a new center for newborns and young children. They are in desperate need of baby formula and baby cereal. They are also accepting donations of "gently" used infant and toddler clothing. Please remember that the climate in Jamaica is very warm, and all clothing donated should be light. In addition, any infant or toddler equipment such as strollers, cribs, and high chairs would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for all of your support. We know that together, we can truly make a difference in the lives of so many people.
